What’s Your Name

When I met you
You were so fine
Body like a goddess straight out of a magazine
Your curvacious figure kept calling me
But I just couldn’t let it be
You were persistent in everything you did
Doing everything in your power to pull me away,
Often at night I would go to sleep dreaming about you
And you would stay on my mind throughout the day,
You would tell me everything I needed to hear
Sometimes it sounded too good to be true,
The more it went in one ear and out the other
The closer I became drawn to you,
I’ve been told you are known to cause friction
Breaking up couples, marriages, and families,
But at times all of that is just irrelevant
Because if all else fails it will just be you and me,
You tell me all the time that I need you
In response, I always tell you I don’t,
You tell me you’ll be there to pick up the pieces
I always tell you you won’t,
How could something so stunning be so toxic
But yet still build the desire of wanting more,
Leading to breaking every rule known to man
And having a set of feelings too significant to ignore,
Just one night would be enough for me
At least that’s where I see this going,
But we will never know unless we happen to cross that bridge
As of now, I’m ready to live in the moment,
The closer I get
The more I seem to pull back,
But the farther I’m away
Your closeness, is what I seem to lack,
Everytime I seem to shake you
I get that call that your all I need,
You always find some way to show face
Looking as beautiful as beautiful can be,
I continue to play my part
Trying to stay afloat as best I can,
But if all fails in the end
What can I say….I’m just being a man!
After numerous times of playing hide and seek
You’ve finally beat me at your own game,
I’m almost too ashamed to ask you this
But, one last time, what is your name?
